What did I learn?

I  learned that a tsunami is composed of waves that it is very dangerous because it can destroy entire cities. Also I  learned that the most tsunamies happen in the Pacific Ocean “RING  OF FIRE”.  The waves of a tsunami are called  Wave Train. Also,  I  learned that strange creatures exist in  the sea. My favorite fish is the Frilled Shark.  This fish was found in Japan and was transported to a marine park but it died  hours after  being caught.

The open house was perfect,  we did a lot of things.
we talked about the sharks
and the bottom of the sea.
I talked about the sharks´  teeth,  the sharks´  skin and how they have pups.
I loved it

I learned that in the sea, there are sea anemones, viper fish, fang tooth fish, wolfish, vampire squid and frilled shark.

I learned that the viper fish has  jagged teeth  that it can´t close its mouth and it lives  at the bottom of the sea.

I learned that the  wolfish can break mollusk and sea urchins with its teeth.

BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN

In the open house,  I learned many things from the ocean. I learned that sharks have a sixth sense called electrosense. They called ring of fire because there are volcanoes and they can cause tsunamies.  I learned  that the brains of sharks are smaller  than humans. I learned that the fish pacific viperfish can not close his mouth because he has very long teeth. I learned that sharks have scales called denticles

I talked  about the song and the video  of  the movie Jaws and  also about  the cartilage because they don’t have  bones like the people .

Also that like all animals the sharks need to breath, move and eat,  that they move easily because the cartilage that forms its  skeleton  is lighter than bone.

The Open House was very funny , I learned about Oceans, and strange creatures from the bottom of the sea such as pacific viper fish, vampire squid,  etc.
That the tsunamis are very destructive for the cities .  We also talk about the sharks, they are big fish and their teeth are triangular,  they do not  eat humans, but by accident they ate some.

All life on the earth is connected to the ocean and its inhabitants, the more that you learn about this vital system the more you´ll want to help. From fishes to sharks, from whales to crabs and from octopuses to microscopic algae, marine wildlife contains the largest amount of life on the earth.

Water in nature is essential, our body is made of water; water occupies 3 quarters in its surface, the same quantity of our body . In oceans, we can find a lot of animals such as: fish, dolphins starfish etc. We can also find a lot of plant biodiversity with amazing colors and beauty. Humans waste water in many ways. We should take care of this important resource.

Scientists have discovered that there is more water on another planet “Mars”. It has an innumerable amount of water, the scientists do not know how but they do know that Mars has water in the polar caps. It is said that where there is water, there is life.

Pacific Viperfish has jagged needle like teeth so outside it can`t close its mouth.

Wolffish: these predators swim as deep as about 600 meters.

Vampire Squid: this specie gest its name from its dark, webbed arms, which can draw over itself like a cloak.

Fangtooth Fish: reach only about 16 meters, but their namesake teeth are the largest.

Frilled Shark: has many physical characteristics of ancestors who swam the seas in the time of dinosaurs.

The sharks have a sensory system that can detect kind of electricity in a body.  It is called electro sense.

The  sharks   breath  through  gills  that take oxygen from  the  water

Sharks need  to  breath  move  and  eat. They  move  very  easily through water  because  the  cartilage that  forms  its  skeleton    is

ligther  than  bone, the same that helps  it  to float

Sharks have triangular teeth which are different. Some are long and pointed and others are sharp with serrated edges for cutting.

  • Sharks leave the babies to take care for themselves in the sea when they are born.

  • Shark babies look like a miniature version of their parents.

  • Sharks are larger than humans.

  • Shark babies sometimes eat their sisters or brothers in in the womb of their mother.

THE FISH CONSTITUTE A VERY IMPORTANT PART FROM THE OCEAN AND THE FOLLOWING ARE THEIR CHARACTERISTICS:

THEY BREATHE UNDER WATER USING GILLS.

THEY DO NOT HAVE LUNGS.

THEY HAVE ESCALES AND FINS, NOT HAIR OR FUR.

THEY ARE COLD BLOODED LIKE THE INSECTS.

THEY LAY MANY EGGS.

PostHeaderIcon Tsunami

A tsunami is a series of ocean waves that send surges of water, sometimes reaching heights of 30.5meters onto land. These walls of water can cause destruction when they crash ashore.

These awe-inspiring waves are typically caused by large undersea earthquakes al tectonic plate boundaries.

The most tsunamis, about eighty percent happen  within the pacific ocean ring of fire.  A geologically active area where volcanoes and earthquakes are common.

The best defense against any tsunami is early warning that allows people to seek  high ground.
